Getting Started (AKA What is the best...?) • Re: Plugins/Companies using serial, a keyfile, or watermark copy protection

There are lots of threads on the internet that state what is or is not protected by copy protection. Assertions are made everywhere—a lot of them not correct.
And you're fine adding to that, it seems. Well done.
When many people claim that something is (or isn’t) using serial number, etc., I add it to the list.
Adding it to a list is one thing. But when you dont know a thing, the list should be 'unknown'

Adding it to a list and making an assertion about something that you have no evidence for is not the same thing.
I already know your stance on the subject, based on comments you’ve made in the past in other threads.

No you really dont. But good try at handwaving my concerns about your specific assertion here in this thread into some sort of pre-existing 'stance'.
You don’t see the point in being concerned about this.
I do see the point in being concerned about the 'this' Im talking about.
This thread is for those who don’t want to buy software unless it meets the criteria in the original post.
That doesnt justify making unproven assertions. If anything, it makes it worse.

Those who want the list and only buy from the list would rather me err on the side of caution—how do I know this?
Because it suits you to say they do?

Because they don’t want to buy software that doesn’t meet the listed criteria. So, there is nothing to worry about, and no one is being alarmist. :)
You made false assertions about a developer, that can be specifically seen to have worried people in this very thread, when there was no justification for it, let alone 'caution'. A simple 'unknown' would be sufficient, the assertion you made was exactly alarmism.
Alarmism is excessive or exaggerated alarm of a real or imagined threat. Alarmism connotes attempts to excite fears or giving warnings of great danger in a manner that is amplified, overemphasized or unwarranted.
