I didn't have the patience to wait for the update to be able to use my own samples. So I've been digging around and managed to find a work around to load my own samples in MiniFreak V.In case you miss the sample import function. This is coming in a very soon update after the holidays Image may be NSFW.

The samples need to be raw, header-less, mono, 8bit signed PCM and 48kHz. They can be other sample rates but wont match pitch. The samples can be a maximum of 3 sec or MiniFreak V crashes on loading. Perhaps other formats may work. But this is what I've used and found works.
I've used Audacity to export them in the above format and they load without a problem.
The samples need to be placed, on Mac, in a sub folder of your choosing in Library/Arturia/Samples/MiniFreak V/Samples. Windows users need to dig around to find the location of the factory samples. But should be similar to Mac.
Then you just choose one of the sample based engines and load your sample through the built in browser.
Hopefully official support of user samples will be added soon and there wont be a need for a work around.
Hope you find this useful.
