Oh, you're right.They can edit the modulator. Let's say you assign ENV2, the left of the 3 buttons opens the ENV2 settings window.
So it's really something.

EDIT: There is a bug. So what if I can add ENV2 to modulator in GUI if saving preset do not save this? Also values after instrument reload are revert to default. Also - all ENVs and LFOs are shared, so changing it in one instrument preset - change it for all. And will not be saved anyway.
