Yeah it is an opinion. There's a dude that shows Bitwig on youtube and talks about how great its audio manipulation capabilities are. They are indeed, but sadly it lacks a bunch of stuff that Reaper (which I thing is "Bigger") can do because I asked him; and he knows a lot.

Reaper is cheaper, comes with virtually no stock instruments, and doesn't have a grand committee behind it catering to the trends and looking for the next big thing to add- but it is bigger to me because it can do so many things so easily that other daws cannot do without sending you through the wringer or they cannot do at all; and that's a fact. You can say the same thing about other daws comparing to Reaper, but most of those options seem to be icing that people can't live without themselves, or things that are simply easier, or different (One thing you can't do is adjust playback rate in a sampler). What really sucks in other daws is the inability to add effects to an audio clip. Presonus' grand addition in 7, I believe, is this feature- a feature that has been in Reaper for longer than I can remember..

It's just interesting how marketing works. Their youtube channel is of course a marketing tool with them talking about additions like this one to Studio One. It's like basic stuff pretty much, and nothing new and earth shattering that hasn't been in other daws most of the time it seems. I am wondering if daw companies withhold features just to have something to release later. Reaper packed in what it could have and makes additions and things and what not while time goes on. It isn't corporate based with a marketing team finding ways to optimize sales, ultimately exposing, or destroying the paradigm at least in theory and understanding; although not in actuality. I am not saying to judge (entirely), I am saying just as food for thought; also to point out that it can actually be a good thing; especially can be good when it comes to features that are newer and cutting edge that a daw like Reaper may never incorporate. But, I think at this point most of the new stuff is stuff like Clip Arrangers, Loopers, Splices, A.I., Modulators, Sequencers and what have you that will never replace the bread and butter of daws. My 0.02...
