Except Steve already has stated, many times, that "Updates are free for life and are priced in to the purchase price of Serum." I see as recent as November he's stated this.I would happily pay something for Serum 2 also. I wouldn't expect the builder that built my place to upgrade it for free, or for Subaru to keep my 18 year old vehicle up to road worthy standard. Expecting software developers to do anything apart from bug fixes for free, while not exactly the same, is kind of weird imo.
This is why there aren't sales or discount codes for the product. It's priced high to account for the future updates. This has nothing to do with your 2007 Legacy Wagon that wasn't sold with the condition that updates were included for subsequent model years.
So I think it is kind of weird to equate the two and ignore or not respect Steve's own pricing logic.
If you want to hand over more cash to him, by all means. But there seems to be an implication that the man should double back on his own guarantee, which I'm sure has effected the purchase decisions for some into making the sale. So I think it needs to remain without further cost to update.
