While I know that EDM tends to rely lots (too much IMO) on production hacks like ducking (side chaining) and BPM sync it is still built around the same Western Harmony set so why not start from there so you have music that works.

Then, and only then, start adding mixing hacks when they serve the Scene & Story. This saves you from getting the cart before the horse and suffering the inevitable trainwreck :-O
If you lack patience you can try this other set of videos made rather randomly from prompts given to me by the employer. I put the videos into a vaguely sensible order but the link before which is all about notes is far more likely to lead to good results (if you let it).
