Siderack looks promising, indeed. Unfortunatelly, it's MacOS only ![:-(]( "Sad")
Currently I use an Audio4c audio interface, and it works remarkably well to exchange MIDI and audio between PC and iPad. Audio exchange is limited to 4 channels though...
