Bitwig • Re: Bitwig 5.2 Beta 8 and new Windows MSIX Installer - Do you want MSI Installer back?

I did install beta 10 to see what was up with moving it and whatnot. So far I have left it in the windows app folder to see what kind of issues might come up before I relocate it, so far there's nothing... The installer is also way faster than the msi seemingly.

*Just noting my experience so far is all...
*I don't use NI stuff anymore so no Kontakt, anything else that uses samples
has presented no issues that I can detect.

*The only issue I guess, is that it did not overwrite the old beta, which I will
have to remove manually or overwrite.
That's good to hear that the Beta 10 is OK with no major issues...

Mind that issue of solving multiple installs, if it doesn't overwrite, is a false flag about saving disk space (not my problem by the way)
Myself I'm not in the mood for playing games and will wait for the full 5.2 release.
I'm just getting to the point where I feel capable of stress testing and making greater demands on the program, so if I find any issues they will be rooted in an outdated Beta.

I already have one regarding a template I want for mixing down. concerning 20 channels with softube Console One on each of them. It struggles to load the 1st time and I have to go along and find the odd one or two instances that failed and click to reload. It seems about 16 instances and it starts to flake out.
To be fair, Bitwig is not listed on the Softube site as a recongnised and tested Daw, so I shouldn't expect it to work without issue. 8) Bitwig does however meet the specifications to run it.

The NI stuff should work out of the box though. Looking at the Changelog the next thing folk need to check is GPU drivers especially if there are Nvidia Game drivers installed CBase was having a lot of problems and folk were having to remove the Bloatware and just use the bare bones driver.
Anyway I digress...
One final point if folk have moved the Beta out of jail does it invalidate the Beta if Bitwig are testing the MSIX install location, ie. the foundation for testing becomes contaminated?
As I say not my problem, but it's good to hear it's progressing.

Take care and best regards.
